It has been well established by researches and practitioners that speed of reading plays an important role in the text comprehension. There are of course other reasons and factors which have an impact on understanding the text but still speed of reading is one of the most important ones.

Είναι γνωστό ότι η ταχύτητα ανάγνωσης παίζει σημαντικό ρόλο στην κατανόηση ενός κειμένου. Βέβαια είναι και άλλοι παράγοντες που επηρεάζουν αλλά η ταχύτητα ανάγνωσης είναι από τους σημαντικότερους παράγοντες.

ΔΥΣΛΕΞΙΑ ΚΑΙ ΤΑΧΥΤΗΤΑ ΑΝΑΓΝΩΣΗΣ-DYSLEXIA AND SPEED OF READING

The easy and quick interpretation of graphemes to phonemes gives very early the message behind the text. This process is very much affected by the level of phonological awareness of the reader. Most of the dyslexics, but also a big number of other readers, are agonizing over phonological awareness. If the phoneme-grapheme association is not automated (does not happen very quickly), this naturally hinders reading process and hence understanding of the content. Reading though is not just a simple decoding procedure but it is also a more complex process of understanding the meaning of the strings of graphemes, that is the meaning of the text.

Η γρήγορη μετάφραση των γραφημάτων σε λόγο δίνει ενωρίς το μήνυμα, αποκωδικοποιεί δηλαδή το κείμενο. Αυτή η διαδικασία επηρεάζεται από το επίπεδο φωνολογικής ενημερότητας του αναγνώστη. Η φωνολογική ενημερότητα βασανίζει πολλά δυσλεξικά αλλά και άλλα παιδιά. Η αντιστοίχιση φωνήματος γραφήματος αν δεν έχει αυτοματοποιηθεί δημιουργεί, φυσιολογικά, καθυστέρηση στην ανάγνωση και κατά συνέχεια και στην κατανόηση. Η ανάγνωση ως γνωστό δεν αποτελεί απλή αποκωδικοποίηση αλλά στοχεύει επίσης στην κατανόηση του κειμένου.

Our company researches for many years on dyslexia issues and reading more specifically and we have come up with a series of simple, easy to use tools and educational material (software or other) which can be utilized in a multisensory environment for the child to acquire more quickly the necessary reading skills. One of these tools is the SPEED OF READING where the child reads with a rythme and with colour coded graphemes. This software is a BETA version software which is open ended and is expected to be released soon.

Ένα από αυτά τα εργαλεία είναι και η Ταχύτητα Ανάγνωσης, με ρυθμική ανάγνωση αλλά και με κωδικοποιημένα (χρωματική κωδικοποίηση) γραφήματα. Το λογισμικό αυτό (έκδοση ΒΕΤΑ) είναι μεικτού τύπου και καταβάλλεται μεγάλη προσπάθεια να είναι έτοιμο σύντομα.

Very soon we also expect to have ready the LifLexia tool which has been developed based on a long research and aims also at supporting dyslexics with their speed of reading and understanding. Έτοιμο θα είναι επίσης σύντομα το εργαλείο LifLexia, που βασίζεται σε πολυετή έρευνα και που στοχεύει επίσης, στην παρέμβαση στη ΔΥΣΛΕΞΙΑ με κύριο τομέα την αύξηση ταχύτητας της Ανάγνωσης.
